WAYS TO GIVE

Legacy Circle

Breaktime’s Legacy Circle recognizes donors who have named Breaktime in their will or other form of planned gift. Planned gifts are an extraordinary way to leave a lasting and permanent impact on the young adults whom Breaktime serves.

With a bit of planning today, you can ensure that the causes that have grown important to you and your family continue to be supported, in your name, long after you’re gone.

WAYS TO GIVE

Give in Ways That Work for You

Breaktime is proud to accept gifts through Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs), Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from IRAs, and publicly traded securities. These alternative giving options can make a significant impact while offering donors potential tax advantages.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) allow you to recommend grants to Breaktime from your fund, making it simple to give strategically and consistently. Gifts from DAFs often allow you to support your favorite causes now while taking advantage of charitable deductions in the year the contribution is made.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) Gifts of Securities — including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds — are another powerful way to support young adults experiencing homelessness in Boston. Donating appreciated securities can allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while making a meaningful contribution that helps Breaktime provide consistent services, housing support, and long-term programs for the people we serve.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) Qualified let individuals aged 70½ or older donate directly from their IRAs to Breaktime. This can satisfy required minimum distributions while reducing taxable income, making it a smart way to give while benefiting your financial plan.

Matching Gifts allow your employer to double—or even triple—your donation at no extra cost to you. By taking advantage of matching programs, you can make your generosity go even further.

Creative Ways to Make Change

Breaktime thrives on innovation and bold solutions. From its founding, Breaktime set out to end young adult homelessness in Boston—and through the growth and refinement of its programs, it has helped hundreds of young people find stability and build their futures. In that same spirit, Breaktime welcomes personalized and creative ways of giving, because every new idea, event, or contribution helps expand our impact and empower even more young adults to achieve independence.

Other Ways to Give go beyond traditional donations. You can launch a supply drive, host a fundraising event, volunteer your skills, partner with our organization, or organize a campaign—whatever way you choose, your support directly fuels Breaktime’s programs and empowers young adults experiencing homelessness in Boston. Every action you take helps someone build stability, confidence, and a pathway to long-term independence.
