Breaktime's Young Adult Program:

Paid employment. Real support. Lasting stability.

YOUNG ADULTS

Breaktime does things differently.

At Breaktime, we believe stable employment changes everything. Our core program empowers young adults experiencing housing insecurity with transitional jobs, wraparound support, and pathways to stability.

Launchpad

Every young adult begins with a strong foundation. In this phase, Associates receive onboarding, job training, and wraparound support to prepare them for success, both on the job and beyond.

Liftoff

Associates transition into paid employment with our partners across the city. With ongoing coaching and a steady paycheck, they begin building skills, confidence, and a track record of success.

Stable Orbit

After completing their time at Breaktime, young adults move into the next phase of life—whether that’s full-time work, education, or independent housing—with tools to thrive and support to stay grounded.

Funding Stability. Fueling Potential.

Breaktime Community Fund

The Breaktime Community Fund provides life-changing financial support to young adults experiencing homelessness by covering critical expenses. Informed by the voices of our young people and grounded in our values of radical inclusion and collaborative innovation, this fund fills vital gaps and opens new doors.

Helping Young People Take Flight.

Flight Boosters are optional learning sessions that give Breaktime Associates extra tools to thrive—on the job and beyond. Open to all participants, these workshops cover topics like mindfulness, budgeting, nutrition, legal rights, and tenant protections.

Whether it’s building confidence, understanding your rights, or learning to manage money, Flight Boosters offer meaningful opportunities for personal growth and long-term success.

It's Time for a Head Start.

Space Camp is a new pre-program workshop series designed to run between monthly Breaktime cohorts. These 90 minute sessions serve as early support and community prior to the start of Launchpad. Participants receive lunch and $60 for attendance.

Direct Support. Lasting Impact.

BAY-CASH (Boston Area Youth—Cash Assistance for Stable Housing) is an innovative pilot program that provides young adults with direct cash transfers and wraparound support to help prevent and end homelessness.

Designed with equity at its core, BAY-CASH trusts young people to know what they need. The program offers flexible funding alongside trusted resources—empowering participants to make informed decisions, access stable housing, and build toward long-term independence.

Breaktime is proud to be a core partner in this transformative initiative to reimagine how we support youth experiencing housing insecurity.
